We're a nonprofit organization developing SPARK - A free & open source augmentative and alternative communication tool for individuals with speech and language challenges. Join us on our journey.
SPARK may be new to the scene, but we're already igniting change. There are many reasons to choose SPARK. Here's some of our favorite features that set us apart.
We believe that communication is a fundamental human right. What good is a communication tool if it is not accessible to all? Not only is our entire codebase, from this website to the app itself, open source on GitHub, but we have also open sourced all of our finances in the name of transparency. We are committed to keeping our software free and accessible, forever.
We're driven by purpose, not profit. As a registered nonprofit organization (EIN 81-2908499), every decision we make prioritizes the needs of our users. All of our funding goes directly toward improving our tools and expanding access to those who need them most. We accept tax-deductible donations, and every dollar we receive makes a difference.
Communication is personal, and no two individuals are the same. That’s why SPARK is specifically designed to be highly accessible and customizable. Whether you need alternative input methods or a personalized interface, SPARK can adapt to your unique needs and preferences, ensuring that you can communicate effectively and comfortably.
SPARK is designed to be easy to use and accessible to everyone. Every single detail is carefully crafted with the end user in mind, combining the traditional layout of an AAC tool with a modern and innovative UI integrated with the latest technology, so you can focus on what matters most: communication.
There's an overwhelming amount of options out there. We get it. But SPARK is different. Here's how.
We aren't just another generic gimmick AAC app. Our carefully designed user interface/experience and user-oriented layout is proven to increase vocabulary diversity and retention in users, and have a lasting impact on individuals with speech and language challenges.
Unlike other AACs, we're up to date with the latest in technology and design industry standards, so you can be 100% sure to receive the best user experience possible.
At its core, SPARK is a community-driven project. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve and expand our services, and greatly value input and feedback from our users. There are many ways to get involved with SPARK, from contributing to the open source codebase, to helping us spread the word about SPARK and our mission, or even directly donating to the project. Whatever you choose, we greatly appreciate your support and are excited to have you with us on this journey. 🚀
Okay, now you're convinced. While SPARK undergoes public development, we are offering early access to the application and related services on request. Let's get you started.
